In these 'Book Notes' for the popular blog Largehearted Boy, I've put together a playlist for Tomorrow and Tomorrow. All of these bands actually appear in the book, on posters or t-shirts, and are local to Pittsburgh. The playlist is book-ended by two very famous (non-Pittsburgh) songs that emotionally resonate with the novel. Listen here.
Leah Lizarondo, not only a writer for NEXTPittsburgh, but also someone who shares a table with me at our coworking space "The Beauty Shoppe," wrote this great piece about Tomorrow and Tomorrow for the site. Thanks Leah! NEXTPittsburgh
Thank you to Michael Machosky for this amazing writeup about Tomorrow and Tomorrow in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. While we were talking, he told me that he was sitting in Lili Cafe reading the book when he came to a scene that takes place at Lili Cafe.
Pittsburgh novelist Jacob Bacharach, author of The Bend of the World, reviewed Tomorrow and Tomorrow in today's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, describing the book as a " bleak, gorgeous romp through a pornographic and political American id." Check it out.
Thank you to Bill O'Driscoll, writer for the Pittsburgh City Paper, for this write-up about Tomorrow and Tomorrow. I had a great time chatting with him over coffee at the Crazy Mocha on Liberty, downtown. Here's the article: Pittsburgh City Paper.
A few months ago, Gina from the 15th Ward "Homepage" interviewed me over a pancake breakfast at Kristopher's Place on Murray. We talked about mutual friends, schools, living in Greenfield, my life as a writer and what I love about Pittsburgh. Her article appears in the current "Homepage"--and is actually the first time I was interviewed about my writing. Thank you Gina! If you live in Greenfield/Hazelwood, check it out.
